why is he generally so revered and beloved? did he used to be a big deal or a really good wrestler when his career was active? im aware it was cut short, but i never got the impression, looking back and doing outside research, that he was perceived as potentially the next big name in the super junior division. what am i missing here?
note: this is not a criticism of him, his work, or his commentary. just curious why he seems to be portrayed almost like jim ross was in wwe (as someone to be respected and youre a total bastard for bullying him). i was a little kid when he was wrestling, i have no contemporary perspective to perceive him on.
