My outlook email does not work well in Japan

Firstly, let me just say that I check my spam folder super regularly.

When I ask for verification codes in Japan (for example Ponta but many other services as well), I just do not receive many of them. Other types of emails as well. I bring up verification codes because those are the emails you know you are supposed to receive with certainty. With gmail everything works perfectly. Many emails seem to be blocked at server level. I did some research and found nothing about this. When I used to live in a different country I didn’t really have any issues.

Is this a me problem or does outlook completely suck in Japan? I’m worried I’ve missed important emails…
