Might be wrong but it seems Japanese media in English aint reporting on the death of an Australian elementary schoolkid on a snowmobile tour in Hakuba, Nagano. A shocking incident where the snowmobile flipped over – she and the adult/s she was with were on a snowmobile tour and not handling it by themselves.
Didn`t see it on japantoday, asahi, mainichi and yomiuri shinbun to name four sites. Is this a case of self-censorship especially as the narrative mostly being run about foreign tourists these days is how `unsettling` and `difficult` it is for the Japanese nation to `tolerate` over-tourism that their own J Goverment has been responsible for creating?
Aint surprise me at all if this is censoring of that story – too many want it both ways, the tourist money but also want to get all bent outta shape about a minority of foreigners behaving badly, just like those in my home country of the USA and in the UK, Europe, Australia etc.
