Should I apply for this year’s JET?

Hello! I know it’s been asked already (but some were a year or two years old already), but I still want to ask. I’m from the Philippines, in my first semester of my final year and set to graduate (hopefully) by next year with a bachelor’s degree in education, specifically English. I’ve had at least a year of teaching experience with my part-time job but I’ve been extremely worried about my college transcript since I failed my whole second semester, aside from that, my grades have been good.

Should I apply for this year or should I build up (IELTS, TOEFL, licensure, etc) for the next one?
