I feel like I haven't seen a language related question here for awhile but I could use some advice.
I'm relatively fluent in Japanese, at least for anything you'd say in normal conversations, but I never really listened to myself speak in Japanese (hate listening to my own voice). My only input on my accent has always been asking my friends (both Japanese and foreign), to which they usually say I have an accent but it's not that strong. And I'd definitely say it's improved the longer I've been here as well.
I recently worked up the courage to actually record myself speaking and listen back. I'd say my accent isn't that strong but you can definitely tell I'm from North America.
I was wondering if anyone here had tips for how they reduced their accent and managed to sound a bit more local. Or if it's just something that happens with time.
