Working with an agent for an apartment. Agent is telling me that they can set me up with certain well known moving companies and insurance companies and saying that I can get discounts through their referral.
Any insiders in real estate that can comment on whether this is true.
My experience from my home country is that the other companies need to pay a referral fee and need to pass that on so they raise their base quote to cover the referral fee and “discount”, so it would have been cheaper to go direct without the referral.
Not sure how it works in Japan though, which is why I am asking.
