Teach Japanese to child

I want my child to learn Japanese. What are the things we can do in India from childhood to help with this?

  1. If you don’t speak Japanese it’s best to leave it to people who do. They have to learn from a competent speaker to not pass on errors that will be hard to eradicate.

So, maybe a daycare, classes or school, depending on the age of the child.

Why do you want them to learn Japanese? Would it even be of interest to them to learn it?

  2. To learn new language is always beneficial, I am planning for future, the child isn’t born yet,, so I am hoping to make a rough plan for it..

  3. Raise them with the philosophy that Japanese is the language they use for fun. Anything they want to read, watch, or play for fun, go along with it as long as it’s in Japanese. Make Japanese the language of their entertainment life.

  4. Maybe show your child kids shows (including animation) in Japanese. That alone won’t do it, but it can help with exposure.

  5. Japanese people struggle to teach Japanese to their own children when they live outside of Japan. Are you fluent OP? Otherwise be prepared to pay for weekly lessons until the child is about 10. Why do you want to force them to speak Japanese in the first place?
