Options for 1 month stay outside of Airbnb ?

Hello everyone !
I'm traveling around Japan for a year, and would like to know if you have any recomendations for "short" term rent.

I've got lucky with Airbnb for now but i heard it can get a bit sketchy.
I've checked some local renting websites but having to pay one or 2 months of key money for a one month stay is kinda a no go.
Are there any other options i may miss ?
Maybe with more local guest house or so, on less popular websites than Airbnb !
