Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get advice from anyone who has experience with a Japanese – Filipino marriage in Japan.
I’m Japanese and my partner is Filipino. We’re planning to get legally married in Japan while he visits, and he will stay for about 2 weeks. I’m wondering if that’s usually enough time to complete the process.
Our plan is roughly:
-
Apply for CLCCM (Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage) at the Philippine Embassy/Consulate
-
Wait for the CLCCM to be issued
-
Submit the Konin Todoke (marriage registration) at the city hall
-
Get the marriage certificate after it’s accepted
-
File a Report of Marriage (ROM) at the Philippine Consulate
For anyone who has gone through this process:
• Was 2 weeks enough time to complete everything?
• Did you experience any delays with the embassy or city hall?
Any advice or tips would really help. Thank yo
