change visa status within japan?

i am currently on a working holiday visa in japan, which is eligible until october 2026.

i got accepted into a private university in japan, so i will have to apply for a student visa (i get the coe from the university).

my question is, if it is possible to change my visa status or get my student visa approved at the immigration center or something inside of japan?

or do i HAVE to go to the embassy in my home country?

did anyone face the same situation?

i appreciate any help
