I am going to Japan in mid October until early November. current plan is
* october 18 to 24 in tokyo
* october 25 to 31 in kyoto
* november 1 to 7 back to tokyo (want to check out the cultural festivals that schools hold on nov 3rd. and also flying back on the 8th)
i have alot of time to plan things out. BUT… i am kind of in a rush because i need to use up expiring credits i have.
for kyoto, the last 2 days, i am planning on using my hilton free nights at the Roku Kyoto hotel. i dont really have plans on staying much in the hotel.
but hopefully after ~~5/6 days in kyoto by then, I will have seen majority of the top hits. so if im feeling it, can use the last 2 days as a relaxing day at the hotel. also will be using my Amex Aspire credits to eat at the restaurants at the hotel.
But because the Roku kyoto is a resort, its kind of….. close to the edge of the city…
couple questions i have are
-
is 4/5 days plenty to visit Kyoto as a first time visitor?
-
is there any highly recommended places to visit/check out thats close to Roku Kyoto that i can put at the tail end of my Kyoto itinerary?
-
is transportation around Roku Kyoto plenty?

There’s no need to rush because your replacement cards will have the same account numbers as your soon to be expired ones. Or are you closing those credit card accounts? In the second case, just wait untl you come back from the trip before closing the accounts.
The answer to question q depends on what you want to see in Kyoto. I am sure you could find things to do that will fill out 4 to 5 days.
I cant answer question 2 or 3 as I haven’t been there before.
