Hi there,
I’m studying in Japan and recently saw a doctor to have some medications refilled. Visiting the clinic with my 保険証 only cost me about ¥1000, but my medications cost me about ¥16,000 even after providing my 保険証. I had three medications refilled but I noticed that one was name-brand while the others were generic, could that be why the cost was so high? The name brand of that particular medication is Intuniv, which is a non-narcotic ADHD medication. Should I speak with the pharmacy to see if I was billed accurately? My receipt isn’t all that revealing. I’m not sure if that’s what I should expect to pay month-to-month or not, so any advice is appreciated!
