Shoutout to Nami Japanese Restaurant in r/RichmondVA. I've seen this place mentioned here before, and it warrants that. This was my second time after a very impressive first visit here, and we both walked out round like barrels, full of mouthwateringly fresh sushi – rice and all.
More notably, it's my and his first time trying toro, about which I learned thanks to you all. Wow, those pieces they brought out were massive. $16 for 2. Worth it, IMO. The piece surprisingly fits in your mouth and nearly melts as you bite into it. Absolute delight!! It made me say that toro is the "foie gras of the sea" (to the limits of my culinary knowledge today).
