Hidden Japan: A surreal pop‑art hotel near Osaka Castle

Just a short walk from Osaka Castle, I found a quiet neighborhood with a hotel that looks completely different from anything around it.

The area is calm and residential, so the colorful exterior really stands out.

Inside, every floor is covered in bold murals — **dragons, neon cityscapes, cartoon-style characters, and huge pop‑art designs.**

One room even has a **massive reclining Buddha** painted across the wall, mixed with Mount Fuji and Osaka’s skyline.

It feels more like staying inside an art gallery than a hotel.

Even though it’s close to one of Osaka’s busiest tourist spots, the surrounding area is peaceful and almost tourist‑free.

A strange, creative, and very “hidden” corner of the city.
