sorry if this is the wrong subreddit for this, I just thought this would be a good place to ask. I obviously know it's salmon, but why does it look like this?
Salmon belly. They just way over scored it. I’ve definitely noticed a trend of pics on here with over scored fish but this is extreme
Salmon toro 🤤 enjoy!
Sushi
Yummy delicious Salmon
Delicious best part of salmon
Salmon three ways.
Salmon brain.
You ordered it, you tell us
Certified chef. Judging from the photo.. I would assume sushi.
Fat salmon the best

Salmon belly, overscored to hell, regular salmon, and what looks like a banger grocery store Philly roll. Looks like I have a munchies craving now.
Hassleback sushi
Sake harasu, salmon belly flap that is most like bacon (large bands of fat, dense marbling)
you’re posting sushi questions on sushi sub, why would it be wrong?
the piece with vertical slits cut into it has been sliced that way to make it easier to eat. it has the silvery white parts because the skin hasn’t been removed completely. the whitish part is that fat between the muscle and the skin.
typically you see this kind of treatment with belly part of salmon
