My very first office chair made those damages on the flooring long years ago when I suspected nothing about chair wheels. Ever since then I became over cautious, and whenever I bought a new chair I always replaced them with custom wheel such as Stealtho and it has always been fine. Trying to avoid using plastic mat on the floor though.
Office chairs lately seem to have "developed" and most always mention its wheel is safe for flooring in its promotion but who knows. I hope I don't need to always use custom wheel whenever buying a new chair.
Just to be safe, what wheel material should I really be looking for for a room with flooring? As far as I know there is rubber, nylon, urethane, and others.
