I recently got engaged to a wonderful woman whose love language is quality time. Outside of our time at home and going out to restaurants/izakayas, our personal hobbies tend to be quite separate. As life and work commitments take more of our time, I am wanting to intentionally plan more leisure activities where we’ll both be out of our comfort zone and experiencing them for the first together.
Here are a couple examples we’ve done together that turned out great:
– ArtBar – Did a paint and sip for her birthday a couple years ago. Neither of us are particular artistic, but the paintings turned out well and we now have both hanging side by side in our living room.
– Rafting – Extended a trip to see family and spent a night in Nagatoro, Saitama to go rafting. This was a refreshing option to get out of the Tokyo summer.
Ideas for the future:
– Wine/sake tastings
– Dance lessons
– Pottery making
Would love to hear from others about any good “quality time” activities or experiences, Tokyo-specific or otherwise. Thanks!
