Why Does Osaka feels so much better then Tokyo?

I always have a good time in Tokyo but Osaka is so much better. Why do you think that is?

  1. Because you likely only hit the touristy areas of Tokyo and don’t know the city well.

  2. Osaka is smaller and much more of a (maybe two-headed) single city than Tokyo. Tokyo always felt to me like a bunch of different cities fused together around a hollow core (the Imperial Palace). I feel that Tokyo would be much more appreciated on a more local scale, it’s just too big to be swallowed at once.

  3. A wise man once said ‘Tokyo is like a record collection. Osaka is like a “Now, that’s what I call music!” Party hits album. Both contain all your favourite hits.’
