Hi everyone,
I’ve put together a detailed 18-day itinerary for my first trip to Japan (late Oct / early Nov).
Goal is slow travel, avoiding crowds, minimal hotel changes, and focusing on quality over quantity.
Would really appreciate feedback on pacing, logistics, and anything that feels off.

Day 17 – Osaka (Light day)
- Den Den Town (short visit, not full day)
- Free time / shopping / rest
Day 18 – Departure
- Transfer to airport (Kansai)
Notes / Preferences
- Not interested in theme parks (Disney, Universal)
- Prefer less crowded, more “authentic” areas
- Planning to use luggage forwarding between cities
- Likely using IC card (Suica/ICOCA) + individual tickets (no JR Pass)
Questions
- Is the pacing realistic or too packed in some parts?
- Are 2 nights in Kyoto enough considering crowds?
- Any obvious inefficiencies in routing?
- Would you cut anything without regrets?
Thanks in advance — really appreciate any feedback.
