To all the survivors of the Japanese driving test, I have a question for you.
Here is a section of my course map: After completing a left turn at Junction 9, the examiner instructed me to "Turn right at Junction 4." The distance between the two junctions is approximately 40 meters. There is a railroad crossing between these two junctions. What is the correct procedure here?
I think the correct sequence is:
- Check the rearview mirror and tap the brakes once.
- Apply the brakes a second time to come to a full stop before the stop line.
- Look left, right, and left again; roll down the window to listen for a train; then release the brake and hit the gas to cross the tracks.
- Once completely across the tracks, check the rearview and right-side mirrors, and flip on the right turn signal.
- When arriving at the junction, look left, right, and left; then perform one last three-point check before making the turn across the lane.
Is this process correct? If any details are wrong or if there are other points I need to watch out for, I’m begging for your advice!
Thank you everyone!
