Yesterday I was sitting at Sudo Park in the Sendagi area with a friend, and we got so caught up talking that I forgot my wallet was sitting next to me on the bench. We left, and only later I realized it was gone. I went back pretty quickly, but it wasn’t there anymore.
I’ve already filed a report at the nearest koban and gave all the details.
The wallet had my Residence card, MyNumber card, Health insurance card, Debit card, around ¥20,000 cash
I know Japan has a reputation for people turning in lost items, but since it was left in a public park and already gone when I came back, I’m honestly pretty worried.
Has anyone experienced something similar in Tokyo? Is there still a realistic chance it gets turned in after some time, or should I start preparing to replace everything?
