Hi,
I have a solo trip to Japan for 3 weeks booked from 5th November – 26th November. I'll be travelling from the UK and am looking to arrange an itinerary around my interests – music (all sorts, but jazz or jazz fusion would be good. Electronic music for clubbing too), video games, nature / hiking, an onsen or two, wrestling.
I'm a little concerned that November may be very busy for some parts such as Kyoto (though I'm not precious about seeing any specific places there), and the weather may not be good enough for hiking.
Currently, I've drafted:
Thu 5th – Arrive at NRT at 12:00. Chill day, acclimatise. Staying in Taito.
Fri 6th – Mon 9th – Tokyo. Ideas – Shrines, Akhibara, Museums, Live Music, Wrestling Show, Clubbing, Nikko day trip, Football match (maybe)
At this point, I had Tue 10th as Matsumoto, and Wed 11th – Fri 13th as a 3 day Kamikochi circular hike into mountains. However, I hear that Kamikochi may not be as much a sight at this time / pretty cold? I see it closes for season on the 15th.
Sat 14th – Blank. Maybe Narai-Jaku
Sun 15th – Wed 18th – Kyoto
Thu 19th – Nara
Fri 20th – Hiroshima
Sat 21st – Sun 22nd – Shimanami Kaido. Travel to Osaka evening.
Mon 23rd – Universal / Super Nintendo World. Travel to Tokyo evening
Tue 24th – Wed 25th – Tokyo. Mt Takao? Listening cafe to chill
Thu 26th – Fly
I'd happily shift the itinerary to try avoid crowds (e.g. arriving Kyoto a day later to avoid the Sunday if that makes any difference).
I also missed out Hakone so that I could visit Kamikochi, but if Kamikochi's off the cards then maybe that Hakone area's an option?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
