Meeting fellow jeans makers in Kojima!

Hi, I’m a third-generation owner of a small, family-run jeans tailoring shop from Penang, Malaysia. I grew up surrounded by denim, so visiting Kojima has always been a dream of mine.

That dream is finally coming true! My brother-in-law and I will be in Kojima for two days (May 20–21), and we’re incredibly excited. Besides visiting the well-known stores and museums, we would really love to connect with local jeans makers, small workshops, or anyone involved in the craft.

We’re not looking for anything formal — just hoping to see how things are done, and appreciate the craftsmanship behind Kojima denim. If anyone here has recommendations, contacts, or is a local jeans maker who’d be open to a short visit or chat, we’d be very grateful.

Coming from a small jeans tailoring shop in Malaysia, it would mean a lot to see where some of the world’s best denim is made and to connect with the people behind it.
