Hello everyone. usually dont post but my case has me a bit desperate for information so I'm here asking the internet.
Been in Japan for 5 years now. Came in just right before covid bologna started.
I'm married to a Japanese. my current job I am abone the 10M and have been doing also a side hustle that gets me the same as my full time for about 4 years. I dont have permanent residency though and considering next year's regulation changes I might not get it if my next renewal doesn't give me the minimum 3 years of Zairyu Kikan.
The point is, me and the missus got a cheat place in the countryside. we want to build a house in there but all banks have given me the side eye. I'm not sure what is happening. Even prestia from whom I heard if you have over X amount of money yearly the would do the loan. nothing.
i have not tried every bank but the ones that I knew. and or use are a no go. (SMBC, MUFG, Yuucho, Prestia) and I don't think local more small banks will be more willing to loan. The big issue is that the reason varies. Some is money( understandable) but 1 bank told me that due to the location of the land they could not do it. I'm a bit confused on conditions for foreigners who dont have PR at all.
