Hoping this is the right sub to ask this. My partner and I have an anniversary coming up this year and want to do something special. We're strongly considering a visit to Japan; specifically Osaka since we have seen a lot of fun looking places there (universal studios, pokemon cafe, etc.).
I'm generally quite an anxious person and neither my partner or I have ever travelled outside of Europe so this would be a big deal.
For someone who overthinks a lot would Japan be worth a visit? I've seen lots of horror stories about touts, places refusing entry to tourists, etc. but I don't know if that is typical online fearmongering.
On top of that – does anyone have recommendations for a safe area to stay in Osaka that's also semi-tourist friendly?
