A close friend of mine who’s in Japan right now working for an international company would like to some advice about learning Japanese . For those who came here without knowing the language and now speak it fluently , are there any schools you’d recommend ? Also how long did it take you to get up to a decent reading and writing level ? And lastly what habits and materials would you recommend for a new learner starting from scratch . For my specification this person lives in Tokyo and is open to following up on any leads to schools and resources in any of the wards in Tokyo and also suburban areas near Tokyo . Thank you
