Amidst a growing trend of wage increases, the disparity in wage growth across generations is becoming a new challenge. This trend is particularly evident among those in their 20s and 50s.
According to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's "Basic Survey on Wage Structure (Preliminary Report)," the wage growth for university graduates in their 20s (ages 20-24 and 25-29) in 2025 is projected to be in the 4-5% range compared to the previous year. On the other hand, the growth for university graduates in their 50s (ages 50-54 and 55-59) is projected to be less than 1%.
