Hi everyone!!!
My name is Jackson, I'm 15 years old and I currently am in high school in the U.S.
I've dreamed of living in Japan for a while (also have been studying japanese, こんにちは!) and I've also wanted to be a pilot for as long as I could remember. I'm currently practicing at a flight school near me and hoping to get my Private Pilot License, and practicing Japanese. I get pretty good grades, my GPA has been between 3.8 and a 4.0 this year.
I have a few questions for you to see if this is a realistic dream or if I'm being stupid.
- Job Market for Foreigners: Are there airlines in Japan that are willing to hire foreigners? I've read up online that they are in a bit of a pilot shortage (because all of the older pilots are retiring,) but I was curious to see if any hire foreigners or if thats a big no.
- College/Schooling Options: Are there aviation or piloting colleges that are located in Japan that accept foreigners? I'm willing to do as much as I can (study hard to get JLPT N1 or N2) if theres even a chance.
- Reality Check: Am I being stupid??? Is this even a thing that is possible, or am I going to have to pull off a 0.0001% chance type of thing? I will honestly drop this aviation stuff if it means I get to move to Japan, I'd just rather do the thing that has been my top dream for a long time, instead of the thing that has been my 2nd dream.
Thank you for anyone who can give me advice!!!!
