Hey! I'm planning to hike the Nakasendo.
Day 1: Booked Train from Tokyo to Nagoya (9am arrival), taking local train to Nakatsugawa, bus to Magome. Staying the Night in Magome
**I'm seeing some info on folks hiking from Nakatsugawa to Magome. Is this suggested? I'm ok with long distance, just want to be sure this is safe. This is what I found " Nakatsugawa-juku (near Nakatsugawa Station) all the way to Nagiso Station, then take a bus to Ochiai and hike to Magome. This will cover the post towns of Nakatsugawa-juku, Ochiai-juku, and Magome-juku".
Day 2 – Hike Magome to Tsumago, stay night in Tsumago.
Day 3- Train Tsumago -> Kiso-Fukushima. Stay the night in Kiso.
**Is there any hiking between Tsumago to Kiso that I should do?
Day 4- Train Kiso Fukushima to Yabuhara. Hike Yabuhara to Narai. Take Train to Matsumoto. Stay the night in Mastumoto.
Day 5- Visit the Castle in Matsumoto, Take train to Hotaka station and rent a bike and explore the Daio Wasabi farm and shrine, then head back to Mastumoto and take a train to Tokyo. (if there's something "cooler" you suggest, i'm all ears. My train to Tokyo is not booked)
Any side quest suggestions? Hidden gems? Specific menu items to order? Must see or do things that require a specific time frame? I'm looking for off the beaten path kind of magic. I understand this is during Golden Week and I should expect crowds.
