No Proof of Business Registration – How to Obtain It?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently a 個人事業主 (kojin jigyōnushi) in Japan and submitted my 開業届 (business start notification) at the tax office last year.

The issue is… they didn’t give me any receipt or copy at the time 😅

Now I’m trying to open a bank account, and the bank is asking for proof that my business is registered, but I don’t have anything to show.

After doing some research, I found that I might be able to submit the 開業届 again via e-Tax, which would give me a digital receipt.

My concern is:

1. Would submitting it again create a duplicate business registration?

2. Or is it treated as the same thing / just another notification?

I’ve also heard that going in person to the tax office to request proof isn’t really an option, as they won’t issue a certificate for it.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or knows the correct approach?
