Hi all,
Context: Canadian driver's license – Saitama Driver's License Center (Konosu)
For reference, here is the link to documents needed from the official Saitama DL Center website.
Currently preparing documents for my driver's license conversion appointment next month and have a couple questions regarding documents to bring:
- Physical Canadian Driver's License
- OK
- JAF translation of above license
- OK
- Physical Passport + Proof of minimum stay of 3 months in Canada following obtaining the license
- I have both the passport and the official CBSA record of entries/exits that I have translated myself. Should be ok?
- Juminhyou
- Is the one printed from a konbini via My Number Card good enough or do I need a real color copy from city hall? The one printed from the konbini shows current address, visa type, visa status & validity period
- 3 x Pictures (3cm x 2.4cm)
- OK
- Zairyuu Card & My Number Card
- OK
- Cashless payment method
- OK
Do I need to bring photocopies of my IDs myself?
Since I have a Canadian DL, it seems that I can skip the knowledge & skill test. The website says the only thing I need to take is an aptitude test, any idea what that would entail? Is this like an eye or color test?
I've read a lot of posts talking about all the chaos around Konosu Center and licenses in general so thought I'd ask here to make sure. Any tips or recommendations for best practices are welcome if you have any!
Thanks!
