I just received my first tip (2,000yen) ever in my life from a Japanese uncle last Friday. Tipping isn't a thing in where I'm from and i believe it's also not popular in Japan neither so how rare is it in Japan? how lucky i was? Any of y'all received tips before?
why did he give me a 2,000 yen tip? the uncle is a truck driver but can't drive a reach forklift, so i helped him to load 8 crates of heavy goods on his truck on the ground since the dock bay was full. We don't usually help drivers to load the truck on the ground but he can't drive, I had to help, after loading he gave me 2,000 yen and i was surprised, best experience at work lol, family got fed well this weekend.
