Apparently I had created an account with Yahoo! JP many years ago and forgot about it. That account was suspended for inactivity. Now I was trying to create a new account and I can't because my number is already associated with an account. However, if I try to log in with that same phone number I'm told my account is permanently suspended for inactivity… Quite the catch 22.
I wanted to use the account to buy Japanese manga on ebookjapan.
