Hi!
My apologies if this has been asked before, I checked but I couldn't find anything with my specific question.
I'm a 24yo trans woman considering moving to Japan sometime in the near future. But before I go and get too excited or look into deep logistics, I have one major concern.
Currently my U.S. passport lists my legal gender as male, as I last renewed it before transitioning. Will that make it difficult to live authentically in Japan? Thanks to the anti-trans efforts of the current admin in the U.S., I don't have any way to change it.
I suspect the answer is "don't move there until maybe one day you can update the passport" but I just wanted to check.
Thank you for the feedback!
