Hi everyone, I’m Shastri
Having called the Osaka area home for the last 10 years, I am incredibly excited to announce the grassroots launch of the **Kansai Youth Cricket Organization (KYCO)**.
We are currently operating as an NPO Preparation Committee, and we are looking for passionate people to help us bring this vision to life.
**What is KYCO?**
Our mission is to introduce the global sport of cricket to local kids (Under 10 through Under 19) by providing completely **free training and shared equipment**.
More than just a sports club, KYCO is built on a foundation of absolute inclusivity and community spirit. We are creating a safe, uplifting environment that is unequivocally open to everyone. Whether it’s boys, girls, children of diverse nationalities, or kids with different physical and communicative abilities (we plan to actively embrace adapted formats like blind cricket)—every child deserves a fair opportunity to play, lead, and grow.
**We cannot do this alone! We need you.**
Every massive community project starts with a few dedicated people. To officially incorporate as an NPO and secure local municipal sports grounds, we are building our founding team.
We are looking for people of **all ages, genders, and backgrounds** to join us as volunteers, founding members, or supporters. You do absolutely **not** need to be a cricket expert to help! We are looking for:
* 🏏 **Cricket Enthusiasts:** Anyone who loves the game and wants to help coach or umpire (we will help you get local certifications!).
* 🤝 **Community Builders:** People who want to help organize events, manage social media, or reach out to local schools and PTAs.
* 💡 **Supporters:** Anyone who simply believes in building a free, safe, and diverse space for kids in Kansai and wants to be listed as a founding supporter.
If you have a few hours to spare and want to help build a lasting legacy for the youth in our city from the ground up, I would love to hear from you.
