The Iranian government has made it clear that the Japanese Idemitsu supertanker that passed through the Strait of Hormuz yesterday did so with their permission. Their Japanese embassy shared a post celebrating how Idemitsu ran through a British blockade to bring oil from Iran to Japan in 1953.
