I am thinking of mounting my Yamaha HS-80 monitors on floor speaker stands. They are big and heavy; w25xd30xh38cm and ~10kg each. I'm thinking of a stand around 60cm tall. My main concern though is earthquakes. Is this an ill advised plan? Are there any stands that could be safe to use?
