Walking through the awakening of northern Japan

These photos were taken during an 18 days solo trip through Tohoku this late April in the historic North of Japan (until 1869 with the integration of Hokkaido). I sometimes faced transport challenges, long hikes and language barriers but I was always rewarded with stunning landscapes, warm smiles and a unique atmosphere.

I hope this album captures a bit of the peace I felt in these less-traveled regions. If you enjoyed it, please let me know 🙂 You can also check some of my previous albums on the sub like Walking in the empty hours of Japan or Kamikochi in Fall
