went into familymart last week and the sakura mochi was already gone, replaced by some early summer peach thing. like the trees outside are still barely blooming but the snack aisle has already moved on lol. back home seasonal food meant your abuela making tamales in december and that was it, one predictable moment. here i genuinely started feeling like i was 'late' for spring because i didnt buy the limited edition drinks fast enough. the checkout lady gave me a weird look when i asked if they still had the strawberry milk and i realized id been unconsciously tracking my life through product rotation schedules. my husband thinks its funny but lowkey i think the packaging design team is more in tune with the year than the actual weather is.
