Has anyone experienced the police advising them to move and not return to your apartment/house?

After threats from multiple people some who know where I live the police have advised me not to go home. The day I talked to them, they wouldn’t allow me to go home, said I could go to a hotel, friends house, or even sleep at karaoke club but not in my home because they bad reason to believe someone who had threatened me may come to my house that night.

Since I have not returned to my apartment and have been staying with someone I know.

But now I am having to look for a share house or even extremely cheap hotel to stay in until I can move out of the Tokyo area. They advised me to move back to my old town in a different region which I had previously been thinking about before even speaking to them.

But now I’m having to cancle my gas, internet, I only return to my apartment if someone goes with me because my friends are too afraid to let me go alone.

I had to pack as much stuff as I could while the police waited outside for me and then drove me to a safe location.

I’m just still in shock. My home country isn’t perfect but in Japan I promised myself if something happened I’d report it to the police to keep myself and other woman safe.

The police say they legally cannot force me to never go back to my apartment but after speaking to them they are right, it’s too dangerous to go back, which for a while I didn’t fully understand because in my home town I’m more afraid of being randomly shot while walking down the street or knifed.

Any other men or woman ever have to pack up all there things and just leave?

How was the process for you?

Edit; i am not asking for advice if someone could tell me where it looks like I’m asking for advice please tell me, I am asking is anyone has been thorough something similliar , p.s if you don’t believe me that is fine. This is a reddit post not a court of law, if you want a “tell all” posts, please wait at least a month when I’ve moved prefectures.
