Cancelling an apartment right after/during moving

Hi, I know this probably sounds a little silly, but I really need someone advice and opinions. I’ve been living in Japan in a small but cheap student apartment. It’s cheap for a reason. Right next to a big busy street that wakes me up basically every night. Something is constantly not working, like the light or the washing machine. But I’ve been living here for over six months and gotten used to it.

After being woken up nightly by groups of noisy bikers or loud sirens I got fed up and decided to pursue another room, it’s like twice the amount of my current rent but a really nice room in a calm area. I went ahead and now I’m signing the last papers. Problem is: My parents expected to be able to give me a certain amount of money until now which got delayed by an unforeseeable amount of time. The thought of getting that was making me confident in pursuing the new room, but now that I don’t have it I wanna back out so much. I’m basically in the last steps of signing the contracts rn which are due today (they sent me everything pretty late which rushed me and adds to the stress). All in all, I feel really uncertain right now and everything is telling me to back out. I might pay a huge fee but ultimately stick with my old cheaper apartment which feels safer. Would it be terrible if I backed out now? Or shortly after the contract starts? I’m pretty sure that wouldn’t financially make a difference and be less stressful for the housing company, since they can treat it like a normal cancellation and not an halfway-inthemiddle-backout
