While I was depositing money into my account, I put 5万into an envelope meant for a separate payment and accidentally left it on top of the ATM. I noticed about an hour later and went back to yucho to check, but it was gone. The staff checked the CCTV for me and confirmed that I left it there and someone else took it.
I went to the nearest koban to report it, but they told me the only thing they can do right now is wait a week to see if someone returns it.
My point is, the CCTV clearly shows someone took it. I am not allowed to view the footage myself, the police still won't do anything yet. What should I do? I know it might not seem like a massive amount to some, but I feel so frustrated that there is clear evidence, yet i cant do anything.
Edit: i’m not after the money anymore, but i wanted whoever took it to have a police record bcos as petty as it sound he/she deserves it
