This might be a bit off-topic for this subreddit but I want to hear what people think. Please let me know if it needs taking down.
I have a Japanese friend and she cannot hear the difference between "can" and "can't" if the /t sound is not explicitly audible. I never thought about this as I've never struggled with it, even though I'm also ESL. I tried to explain and pronounce it more clearly but she still can't catch it.
So to the Japanese that has learned/is learning English, did you have the same problem? And how did you overcome this? Or do you still have trouble with this? Other ESLs are also welcome to provide their own input of course!
