The greatest in-ring rivalry in wrestling history according to me delivered on Sunday what may very well be its last entry. Even if the series lost steam following 2018, it was still one that had meaningful things to say in its 14th (14th!) chapter in 2021. Keeping a floor that high for that long, combined with the narrative mastery and the insane peaks reached on multiple occasions, is pretty much unheard of!
To celebrate the end of an era that (re)defined Puro and the industry at large over the course of the 10s, here is my ranking from worst to best of the 16 matches between Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada.
