Myprotein prices are out of control. Its now significantly cheaper to get protein from chicken or eggs

Anyone noticed yet another massive 30%) price jump on the RRP at myprotein?
They are doing a 50% sale (they are increasing the percent of these sales) but it still works out way more expensive than their old 35-40% sales at the lower price.

I did the math of the price of eggs/chicken at my local supermarket and it works out 30-40% cheaper to get protein from these now, even after the sale discount. Sure its a little less convincing but at these prices im gonna switch. I remember the days of getting a 5kg bag for 6000 yen.

Anyone else found a cheaper source of powder?

  1. I bought my protein from Amazon but generally speaking, egg and chicken protein has always been the cheapest. Even at Japan Costco, the protein was expensive too, and I thought I was going to find the best price there.

  2. Yeah, you are right. They used to be a lot cheaper. I am not checking other brands, so can’t tell you how they compare to the competition. They were always my favorite as they got good results in the Labdoor tests. The price increase is very unfortunate though.

About getting your protein from chicken and eggs instead… honestly, it’s not really convenient and not particularly healthy either.

  3. You can thank Abe and Kuroda-san for the devaluation of the yen and therefore more expensive imported protein powder. The Myprotein on Amazon still seems to be the best deal for me.

  4. I used Ultravalue because the price was so cheap but nowadays it the same as MyProtein :(, hope I can find a cheaper brand before my protein run out

  5. Ever since myprotein increased their prices, I was using xplosion since it was 6900 yen for 3kg. Checked recently 8900 yen…

  6. Out ancestors used to be pretty beast and they did not act like little bitches sucking banana cream latte protein powder 5 times a day while complaining about “my macros”.

    Eat food lift heavy things.
