I'm not sure if someone has already asked this here, but I’ll ask it anyway.
I just want to ask, upon arriving in Japan, do they base the expiration on the Visa or the COE (Certificate of Eligibility)?
I'm a bit worried because my flight is on Sept. 25, but my COE expires on Sept. 5. My Visa, on the other hand, expires on Oct. 4.
I’ve already emailed the Immigration Services Agency in Japan, but this is what they responded:
You need to present a valid COE at the moment you enter Japan.
If the validity expires, you need to get a new one applied in Japan.
Has anyone experienced arriving in Japan with an expired COE?
