Hello all!
I’m sure this is a topic brought up many times before but I need help.
I’m a Design Engineer/CAD operator with a Mechanical Engineering bachelors degree from the UK. I’ve got 6 years experience but small amount of Japanese under my belt. I want to move to Japan in 6 months to be with my girlfriend.
Preferably I would just get the same kind of job there but I’m not sure how employable I am without knowing much Japanese. I also don’t understand what kind of visa I could get when you need a job offer to be eligible for an engineering visa.
Another route is to do a JET program for a way in and spend that time learning enough Japanese to get N3/N4.
Is there a way for me to get an engineering job straight off the bat, and learn Japanese while working? I suppose international companies are what you want but I’m struggling to find them.
Any advice would be really appreciated!
