How to stay in Japan after JET?

Hi everyone,

I’m about to join the JET program and am am bringing my spouse , but we are not Japanese nationals. I've noticed that many people stay in Japan by marrying a Japanese citizen, but that isn't an option for us.

We are interested in starting a business in Japan. Is this possible, and what steps would we need to take? Additionally, is becoming fluent in Japanese and finding a tech job the only viable path, or are there other options available?
