For the longest time, Joytalk didn’t pay into pensions and kept teachers on a 29.5-hour workweek with low pay and an unrewarding work culture.
Now that the government requires companies to provide benefits to employees, Joytalk has complied but shifted teachers to a 40-hour workweek with essentially the same pay. They claim the additional hours are covered by shakai hoken (social insurance).
Is this truly a benefit for employees, or is the company just bending the rules to serve its own interests? It seems like upper management is more focused on exploiting workers than supporting them.
