I am a student that will do an internship in japan from March to August. I will have the paperwork done for the visa by the time I will be there.
Now I am an european citizen so in theory I can stay up to 90 days without a visa. I would like to get to Japan one week prior to avoid jetlag and to visit a bit, but my visa would start right on the day of the internship. Similarly, I would also like to stay longer after my internship even if my visa ends on the last day of the internship.
So I would like to know if anyone managed to switch visa without leaving the country?
